Scope note
Source material that is derived directly from a person or project without secondary interpretation or commentary. Used especially for unique, unpublished materials, but it may also refer to published materials, including transcriptions of interviews. Other examples of primary sources include correspondence, diaries, unique handwritten archival documents, works of art, manuscripts, etc.
